TUPELO, Miss. – The Tupelo Market will resume this year and is scheduled for Feb.16-18.
According to the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal, the Wednesday to Friday market is a change from the traditional Thursday to Sunday trade show.
The event matches hundreds of furniture manufacturers, lighting and accessories dealers with retailers and designers across the country.
The COVID-19 pandemic forced the closure of the spring market in 2020 in not only Tupelo, but also the major markets in High Point and Las Vegas as well. However, while the other two markets held their spring and summer trade shows in 2021, Tupelo did not.
Tupelo Furniture Market Chairman V.M. Cleveland told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the abbreviated winter market will forego the traditional National Buyer’s Award and Manufacturer’s Rep Award ceremonies.
“We will not have any events for the show that create a crowd in one spot,” Cleveland said, acknowledging that COVID-19 still presents a challenge to indoor gatherings.
The Tupelo winter market will occur roughly three weeks after the conclusion of the Las Vegas Market at the end of January.
