NEW YORK — Print-on-demand furniture company Cloth & company has partnered for a third time with Gray Malin, an internationally renowned fine art photographer and interior designer whose work combines the spirit of travel, adventure, luxury and artistry.

This recent collaboration has resulted in Malin’s first adult furniture collection featuring textiles inspired by his colorful photography. The new collection includes beds and ottomans as well as dining and accent chairs in nine patterns and five silhouettes.

The goal of the collection is to “capture the spirit of vacations and joyful holiday moments,” according to Malin. “From beds to seating to accent pieces, I hope this colorful and joyful assortment transforms any room into an everyday getaway.”

Cloth & company employs in-line digital printing technology and traditional handcrafting techniques to produce made-to-order furniture that ships to the customer in weeks. company founder Meganne Wecker is thrilled with this third collaboration with Malin.

“Each one has been incrementally more successful,” she said. “Last year’s collection with the outdoor pillows worked well for the trend to update and refresh outdoor spaces with its many colorful and fun prints. And, our first collaboration resulted in a colorful children’s collection based on Gray’s work at the Parker Palm Springs Hotel.”

Wecker said she thinks the desire for color is coming back.

“After periods of recession, we’ve found that people start to infuse color in print and patterns in homes,” she said. “Brick-and-mortar locations have been starved of print and patterns with the proliferation of neutrals, so I believe we are primed to see the use of color skyrocket.”

Pieces from the new Chicago-made collection are priced between $295 and $1,100.
